The world is a noisy place. It’s full of voices, but what are they all for? How are they different, and how do people use their voices to be heard?

 
Two young birds, Cay and Adlee, are going on an adventure to find out! Follow along as they explore, listen, learn, and meet new friends who use their unique voices to express themselves.
 
Along the way, Cay and Adlee find their own voices and aspirations. We all have an important voice. What kind of voice do you have?
 
Created by internationally recognized education leader Russ Quaglia and his daughter Cali—along with award-winning illustrator Daniel Minter—Cay and Adlee Find Their Voice supports Quaglia’s pioneering work around the importance of student voice.

About The Authors:

Cali Quaglia is a student athlete at Tarpon Springs public high school who believes it is critical that everyone has a voice. She enjoys traveling and hanging out with her brother (Casey), two sisters (Lobo and Chelsea), niece (Adlee), and dog (Cay)man. She is an avid scuba diver, and at the moment her aspirations are to study marine biology in college . . . and keep her father in line!

Russ Quaglia is a globally recognized pioneer in the field of education, known for his unwavering dedication to student voice and aspirations. His commitment to young people is driven by his passion to ensure the voice of each student is heard, honored, and acted upon. His aspirations are to keep challenging the status quo in schools . . . and keep up with Cali!

Daniel Minter is a painter, illustrator, and art educator. Minter has illustrated 11 children's books, including Ellen's Broom, which won a Coretta Scott King Illustration Honor; Seven Spools of Thread: A Kwanzaa Story, winner of a Best Book Award from the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio; and The Riches of Oseola McCarty, named an Honor Book by the Carter G. Woodson Awards. He was also commissioned in both 2004 and 2011 to create Kwanzaa stamps for the U.S. Postal Service. He is the cofounder and creative visionary of the Portland Freedom Trail. Minter serves on the boards of The Ashley Brian Center and The Illustration Institute, and he teaches at the Maine College of Art. He serves as board chair of The Quaglia Institute for Student Aspirations.
