Identifying the Gifted & Talented (Cross Phase)

One of the biggest difficulties with gifted and talented children often lies in recognising the gift or talent in the first place. Many such children find themselves being labelled as underachievers – or just plain difficult. Conventional performance indicators are not always the best way to identify creative and imaginative pupils.

There are funding streams, summer schools etc available for gifted and talented pupils so it is in the school’s and child’s interest to identify these children as early as possible.
