About The Authors:
John C. Daresh began his career as a high school teacher in Iowa and Chicago. After completing his doctorate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he has spent his career as a faculty member and administrator at the University of Cincinnati, The Ohio State University, the University of Northern Colorado, and now at the University of Texas at El Paso. As a professor of educational leadership, he has carried out research and written extensively about a variety of topics related to the preservice, induction, and inservice activities for aspiring and beginning school leaders, and also high school reform issues. In total, he has authored more than one hundred articles and papers presented at local, national, and international conferences, and he has written more than twenty books related to his areas of interest and expertise. But more than any other experience, being the father of his coauthor is by far the greatest source of pride in his years of professional activity.
Bridget N. Daresh is a primary school teacher at Wildwood School in the Chicago Public Schools. Prior to that, she worked at Spring Valley Elementary School in the Richardson Independent Schools, a suburban district adjacent to Dallas, Texas. Bridget completed her undergraduate teaching preparation at Texas Tech University and received her master of education degree in educational leadership at the University of Texas at El Paso. She has rapidly gained a reputation as an innovative and enthusiastic educator who has served as a role model and mentor for a number of aspiring teachers enrolled at universities in Texas and now in Illinois. She loves to travel and has worked to share her learning experiences and appreciation of cultures gained from visiting more than thirty countries around the world.
